I can't speak from personal experience but (quite a long time ago) I was told that ICBIAG was a good name because it really wasn't an effective girdle. The less well-known "Instant Slimming" range was said to be very much better. Of course, this all depends on what the wearer is looking for: the woman from whom I heard the above comments was looking for firm control.
