Yes I've heard that long leg girdles were much more popular here in the USA. I don't really understand why. Fashions were very similar otherwise as far as I know. Mini skirts and bell bottoms. I'm sure my wife never wore an open bottom girdle. But she would never wear a skirt or dress without a long leg panty girdle on. She was in junior and high school in the '60s.
