I had to take her to the Doctor a couple weeks ago for strep. The Doctor told me and her that she needed an antibiotic for her strep. The doctor gave her a choice of a prescription or an Injection in her bottom. He did tell her the injection will work faster than just pills, and that it will hurt a little. She is small for her age, but smart as a wipp.I told her its up to her. She looked at the Doctor and said she would take the injection. He told us a nurse would be in a few. I asked her why she chose the injection, She looked right at me and said she is not scared of needles and sometimes I like how they feel. I said but he said it may hurt. At that age my daughter hated getting shots. However, a little later (age 14-15) she seemed kind of thrilled by getting a shot in the bottom. He said his mom was a nurse and he just never was afraid of shots. It didn't matter to him whether he took a pill, or got a shot. At this point in my life, I don't care either. But I think that ten year old girl had a pretty straight-forward attitude. And let's be honest, shots don't hurt That much. It's the fear of needles which is an issue for most people. My mom once went for an allergy test where they give 10-20 subcutaneous injections in both arms. She said it felt 'neat.' Not sure what she meant lol. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
