I am writing this message to ask for an opinion related to the method of administration of penicillin g. My wife was diagnosed after some tests done at work with an increased level of antistreptolysin antibodies. This led to the prescription of a penicillin injection once a week for 6 weeks. Due to the lack of resources in the area where we live, I decided that it would be best to apply the treatment myself. Said and done. I took the prescription and stopped at the pharmacy where I bought everything I needed for the first injection, I got home and prepared everything on the kitchen table. The preparation instructions were followed in the smallest detail, the vial being mixed for about 5 minutes quite firmly before the medicine was extracted into the 10CC syringe, to the end of which the G18 needle was attached. My wife was with me all this time but she didn't seem to have any trace of emotion, which is why I put her in the subject of everything that was going to happen to her. I specify the fact that he is 1.65 tall and weighs 50 kg. I told her that it is a painful injection because the solution is thick and must be done without a break and she smiled and said that she is not afraid of a "small mosquito bite", and I said "bravo, that's how I want you. Come on let's do it". I tore a piece of cotton that I soaked well in alcohol and slowly went to the bedroom with a rather positive attitude. The wife opens the door, turns on the light, leaves her sweatpants down to her thighs, not knowing the exact place where the needle would go, puts the pillow down and lies down. I sit next to her and we agree that the first injection should be placed in the right buttock, which I divide into four parts and clearly delimit the penetration area. I take the cotton swab, disinfect the area very well and wait for it to dry, during which I ask her not to move and to breathe deeply.
With my right hand I grab her butt, put the needle at 90 degrees and start pushing. The needle goes halfway in, at which point she buries her face well into the pillow and tenses both buttocks. I wait a second and insert the needle completely into her butt, at which point a small "pok" is heard, and she very firmly grabs the bed rail with both hands, letting out a small "UUUUUU". I put my hand on her back and asked her to breathe and count to 10 and it was over. I pulled the plunger of the syringe a little and started to inject the antibiotic. After 1.5 CC of the total of 5 CC that were supposed to reach her butt, she stuck her face even deeper into the pillow, biting with her whole mouth, tensing all the muscles in her body to the maximum and screaming "UUUU" "UUUUUAAAAAAA" "PLEASE" "DONE", at which point I continued to push the piston. I still had a maximum of 2-2.5 CC in the syringe. If I took a break, I had to repeat the injection because the medicine could have coagulated in the needle....
I told her that there was very little left and that she had to hold on, and at that moment, she started to cry in pain. The injection was almost over, at which point I took the piece of cotton in my left hand, and with my right hand I pulled the needle out of my butt, my wife letting out a last "OOOOO". I massaged her buttocks very well, at which point she stops crying and starts to relax her muscles. I lift her pants and panties, leaving the cotton there and leave her alone to calm down a little. After approximately 13 minutes, he comes out of the bedroom with a red face and full of tears, limping and saying that it was the most painful injection he ever had. I hope that next week's will be better.

I personally got this medicine when I was 14, and it was horrible, but I don't remember crying. My wife is 28 years old.

PS: I understood that local anesthetics mixed with the substance would considerably reduce the effect of the antibiotic.

If you have similar experiences and want to share them, I would be grateful.

All the best!
