Subject: Anticipation worse than shot

When afraid of buttock injections in my youth and adolescence, actually getting the shot was the least unpleasant part.

From first knowing that I had to see the doctor, I was worried about what I deemed the childish embarrassment of a shot in the bottom and my anxiety grew as the time drew near. By the time I was in the waiting room, I was in a state of acute apprehension. The inevitable instruction to drop my trousers, pull down my pants and bend over the receptionist's lap confirmed my worst fear. I often thought that I wouldn't mind what I thought the adult treatment of a shot in the arm but getting one in the bare bottom, especially with a girl watching, was absolutely humiliating. My long wait in position, feeling her stroke my naked posterior and listening to her condescending remarks was the worst experience I could imagine. When I finally felt the injection where I sit, it was over in a minute or so but I had to endure the further embarrassment of others knowing what had happened if I couldn't sit down after going to the doctor.

The actual pain of the injection was therefore nowhere as near as bad as the agonising anticipation and embarrassment.

bend over the receptionist's lap? Well, I dont know your doctor, but I always have to lay down or just stand at the desk and slighty bend over. However, feeling the cold alc-pad and then hearing the order to relax makes it hard not to clenching the butt cheek

I went to the health express this morning to get my DTAP. I was placed in a room and given a form to fill out. He then came back and told me to lie on the bed and loosen my jeans. Does this mean I am getting this in my butt and he said yes unless you want it in your arm which will be sore a few days. I remembered the sore arm so I unsnapped my jeans and laid there. He laid the syringe down next to me and said I need to get a bandaid I will be right back. I looked at the syringe and saw the yellow needle and was thinking that is about to get stuck in my hip. He came a few minutes later and pulled down my jeans and panties. I felt him pinch my cheek a few times and then a sting and then he was massging my hip. All done. I got up and pulled up my panties and he said wait let me put a bandaid on your hip. All that worrying and that was not bad at all.
