Subject: Flu shot in buttocks...needle length?

There are a number of posts regarding flu shots. Many posters having had them administered in the buttocks. If anyone could tell me; is there a difference in syringe size, needle gauge and length for a flu injection in the buttocks?
I'm asking because I would think, though I never had a flu shot in my buttock, that to reach the muscle via the buttock, a longer needle than the ones on the syringes for arm injections would be needed. Am I correct? Thanks.

Rich: I have gotten many flu shots, all of them in the arm. Nobody I have ever spoken to have gotten the flu shot any other way. I think it is obvious that the posts you are reading that suggest flu shots in the buttocks, flu shots at Hooters, etc. are all fantasy posts. I would have to believe that even though there are a variety of posters, if the board moderator checked, he would find it was all from the same person. I think that most people understand this, which is the reason there is never any response to these fantasy posts.

Flu shots can be given in the buttock. No special length unless they have a bubble butt. it is absorbed in the muscle. Most of the time people get it in their hip if they have small arm muscles, it does make your arm ache if you do not have a lot of muslce there or they have long sleeve on and are unable to get their arm out or so people prefer it in the butt muscle.
