Subject: Gallipoli Monument

Apparently there were plans to place a monument at Suvla Bay, the landing place of the RNR. But just where is a problem. For those of us that have visited the battle field there, we know how isolated the area still is, except for farmers and sheep breeders and their dogs, its pretty bleak.
The peninsula is a Turkish National Park and there will be many hoops to jump before permission is granted to erect anything, the history of the placement of the Irish monument is an example.
As one person said 2015 will soon be upon us.
I plan to be there for our celebrations, and would encourage checking for reservations now as our Australian and New Zealand friends are already booking.
My last visit was May 2012,We spent a lot of time in the Salt Lake area, also in the surrounding area in search of the elusive "Caribou Hill". I would be pleased to assist anyone.
