Subject: task 6

Dear Isabel,
what do you think?
the ilustration you send me is not here.

Pronunciation task

It is important to teach phonetics because it helps you to pronounce words correctly and consequently one can understand you better. I think it is important to teach phonetics since child starts studying because they need to educate their ears, distinguishing the basic sounds of language and focus on preparing them well for the later stage of literacy in the language, which occurs in a more easy and natural way.

*The following task is directed to children from 4 to 8 years old.
*The task objective is Provide English phonenetic learning.
*Each task will take 45 minutes class.
*It will be presented three phonemes per week, every phonetic sound will be presented through:
• A cd with the letter sound. (Students will hear and repeat the letter sound.)
• Handouts where the student will be challenge to recognize the word by their phonetic sound.
• And interative internet activities.

Step 1 – The teacher will present students flash cards with the letter and the phonetic symbol. They will hear and repeat with the cd.
* example, long Aa card:

Step 2 – The teacher will give students a handout with some pictures and the students should match the pictures with the same phonetic sound.

Step 3- children will practice playing a game where they will identify the letter sound they heard.
