My name is Ronald Horner from New Market Tn. Back in the sixties my daddy, my brother and me would go to the Newport Tn race way and the Smokey Mt. race way in Maryville Tn. They were both half mile dirt tracks. Not every time but some times Friday would be there and most of the time Joe Lee Johnson would be there to. After the race was over we'd go down in the pit's and Friday would always take the time to talk to his fans. Friday was a smooth drive and a clean driver and most of the time him or Joe Lee Johnson would win the race. I'm sorry to say but I have no picture's but you might contact the newspaper in Newport Tn. because they use to cover the races and have pictures of the race winners. In my heart I know your father was on his way to the top in Nascar and it was only a matter of time. I'll never forget the moment when we head the news about Friday getting killed. Me and my brother had been fishing and when we started home that was the first thing we heard on the radio. I hope in some way maybe I've helped you. In a way you remind me of Hank Williams Jr. because he was so young when his father died. Good luck on finding out more about your father because I can feel he means so much to you! Ron
