Sorry to tear into the both of you guys…

>Whenever I am playing Kydan, he is sitting there or within the vicinity to handle anything involving your guild and its issue>

So Kydan sat next to you 100% of the time? But…

>Kydan has benifited greatly in the past from myself and others taking over when he needs to recharge or just have a break<

So Kydan’s version of a break is to sit next you and watch while you play him for multiple hourrs? Or does he stay in the house every time you log him on. I doubt it. There is no way the real ‘Kydan’ was available 100% of the time while his character was logged into EQ in the event guild issues came up. If Rainik is logged on, it is me. If I am not playing Rainik, I am playing my measly merchant Sychobroker...simple as that.

>I can't see the fact that Kydan is the GM of EL as being a reason why he cannot be played by other [paople].<

I cannot disagree with you more. Unless you think, speak, judge, and react EXACTLY as the ‘real’ Kydan does, there is absolutely, positively every reason for no one else to play him BUT him. Consider it false advertisement if you will. You forget that you have the advantage of sitting next to him IRL, whereas we have to rely on his character’s pixels. To be honest, this has tarnished my trust. What if I was to ask ‘Kydan’ for an item transfer, only to find out after the fact that it was one of his friends who stole my item? Probably would never happen, but it is still possible.

>Most people do let their characters be played by other, and Kydan has benifited greatly in the past from myself and others taking over<

I seriously doubt it is a "normal" thing to let someone else control your account, not to mention that fact that it is a bannable offense. I personally feel it is misrepresentation. Just my 2cp.

>I have given my time to Kydan so that he would become 55, and don't plan on letting it go for free<

What the hell is this supposed to mean? Is that some sort of a threat? Sorry buddy, but we have all put in numerous hours (days actually) to develop our characters and the relationships they have with others. A Leader is a CONSTANT figure head and source of guidance, both in real life AND within EQ. How would you like to find out that President George Bush is actually Al Gore and/or Bill Clinton in disguise? Sure, that may be a stretch, but it is just an example. Our leader seems to suffer from multiple-personality syndrome, of which he has addressed and has stated that will change. You seem to feel different, that you are ‘owed’ something. I HIGHLY doubt there are other GL’s that are played by multiple people, unless it was expressed at the onset that the character would be a shared one.

>I am not interested in getting involved in your guild's affairs, but am interested in reaping the benenfits of my hard work<

Guess what? You are already involved JUST by playing as Kydan. The least you could have done was tell the rest of us, but to my knowledge, you did not. Maybe you will understand what I am talking about in time. Leadership is about trust, respect, guidance, and consistency. In my opinion, none of these exist.

Are you trying to tell us that Novan actually played Kydan more than Kydan really did?

>I can see Rainik's concern but I dont think it should go quitethat far. Novan is sort of like Kydan<

Thanks Kajual, but unless they are identical in their reaoning, they are not at all the same. Again, one of the parties involved should have told the guild long ago. Now, it looks like plain old deceit (to me).

>And Novan should be able to reap the benefits of his hard work.<

I don’t mean to be so harsh, but maybe Novan should have put his hard work into his own character, maybe even on a separate account and/or computer. I can now forsee them fighting over who gets to play Kydan. Sorry, but I just disagree.

What dissapoints me the most is the lack of communication. I was never told about this until I recently found out on my own. I was also never approached about the recent happenings and the departing of members until I heard it from them. This alone dissapoints me greatly.

I have been a member/officer of EL since I started EQ (well, 2 or 3 weeks into it). That was over 8 months ago. I have been nothing but loyal and as helpful as possible, given the limited hours I have to work with. I have exerted my best efforts to recruit the best *people* I could find (notice the stress on people, not players or uber p4at lewt hogs, beggars, etc.) and have helped this guild grow in many ways (or so I thought). I, along with many others, have put in plenty of time. The only reward I want is to have fun, adventure, grow, and quest with the good friends I have made through EQ. If this means I can only experience this elsewhere, then so be it.
