it is great when you have some kind of fruit in the salad or tomatoes. My favorite is blueberries, greens, goat cheese, pecans and mint. a little balsamic or raspberry vinegar is nice, too

Romaine, provel cheese (likely just a St Louis thing), craisins, chopped apples, optional red onions (I skip) and poppyseed dressing. That and some bread and I'm good.

I love spinach and strawberries with poppyseed dressing or apple vinaigrette, too.

It's a St Louis concoction that then looks like it's been put through a fuzzy pumper - it's Swiss, cheddar, provolone and liquid smoke - you can get it at local grocery stores.

Our botanical gardens makes this fantastic salad with spinach, strawberries, poppyseed molasses dressing (more 'robust' than standard poppyseed) and slivered almonds...YUM.
