I’m an Adult dancer in WIDA. I however danced all my childhood and teenage years for one of the closed orgs.
I have to agree, as much as I love dancing in WIDA and having the opportunity to compete at all at my age, some of the judges don’t care about technique, feet, carriage or arms… WIDA loves WILD dancers who throw themselves around the stage, it’s obvious in SOME of the results and happens ALL the time.
There are some fantastic Judges, but you find for the most part that they themselves training Either GLRG or An Ch.
As disheartening as it is to see these results, time and time again, as an adult dancer, I’m just happy to have a place for me at all in the Irishdancing world!
