You're absolutely correct. But that isn't her strong suit and she is embarrassed. Is it ideal? Obviously not, but it is reality.

Of course it wouldn't have been appropriate for a parent to approach her while she was judging but there are many times during the week your teacher could have approached her. Did you ask your teacher why that didn't happen?

The social media person for WIDA is wonderful, but she can only know what is told to her, and knowing the judge in question, that judge isn't communicating about the situation. Which I agree is ridiculous and unfortunate. But there isn't a massive coverup going on.

Yes the judge needs to make a statement, but it is also silly to sit around waiting for a fish to climb a tree. She isn't the type who does things like that. She would rather just get the trophies out and move on, but she pointed out all the obstacles stuck in her way.

You aren't going to get a response from her here any more than you will teacher would get one from the WIDA teacher group. The woman is never on either of those things. So if that is your teacher's only plan for dealing with the problem you will probably have to wait until she finally gets trophies out. Or your teacher could be proactive and actually reach out to her and have a discussion and get results.
