I like this guy a lot. Wish him luck next year.

Did I hear him say correctly that he thinks Colgate could play in their league? Not that I'm surprised!

It must just be a coincidence that the year Colgate beats 2 CAA teams, their league is suddenly suffering, weak, and unimpressive.

From collegesportsmadeness.com:

Colgate’s playoff run has been a surprise, but the Raiders beat two CAA teams – a conference that now seems to be a shell of its former self. It’s doubtful they can go into Texas and knock off the Bearkats, too.

Projected Score: Sam Houston State 42, Colgate 17

I sure hope this projection is wrong and that Colgate proves it to doubters once and for all.

win or lose in TX the Raiders are playing at a high level and deserve respect!
the growth of this team from early season to now is incredible and that goes for the O, the D, and the Coaches!
(we do however need a kicker)

Agree with gatefan. Don't know what's happened to Bowman. He used to be a guaranteed 1 or 3 pts. Missing that XP last weekend could have spelled doom for us. We were lucky our D stood tall and brought home the win.

The CAA has been the acknowledged premier FCS conference over the last decade or so. In the last 12 years they have had 4 different schools become champ, 2 additional different schools as finalist, and 3 become semifinalists, so 9 different members have at least reached the semifinals. Cumulatively (without any team double counted in a year), they have have 4 champs, 5 finalists, 6 semifinalists, and 14 quarterfinalists over this period (with teams frequently eliminated because they played other CAA schools). Now they are a mere shell of their former selves because they lost to the Raiders twice!

could be another trap game for the opposition

I'm in the "buy-low, sell high" creep up on 'em school of thought.
Ss liberally educated jocks, we know that change and changing of the guard doesn't happen by someone sounding the trumpet and issuing a press release. Rather, it's a process. Sit back, take-it-in and enjoy it!

I didn't want to mention this before, I was so afraid after Bowman missed the xp, we were going lose 45-44. The poor guys life would have been miserable for awhile. Thank God the defense bailed him out.

I also think Hunt completely outcoached their coach. They couldn't run the ball but kept trying. The little flat pass they scored on was open all day. The guy they threw it to runs a 4.4 fourty, he could have been utilized way more. He left our DB in his dust. Hunt is classy, a good coach, and the players love him!
And not kicking to their deep returner was key also, he almost burnt us several times. The Chenango Valley prevails over the Shenandoah.

Noone mentioned what the temp was there ?

Take a look at the JMU website..their social media was QUITE critical of their coach post game...

I'm sure all of Raider Nation shared your thoughts at the time, Zappa, including me.

Hunt is such a different presence than Biddle. It is refreshing to have someone who is modest (like Biddle) but not reserved. He is almost giddy and his passion for his job is contagious and inspiring. It even makes me want to donate more :-) Hunt also presents his thoughts and ideas clearly and is an outstanding advocate for Colgate. He also seems very personable and friendly.

I am happy for the seniors but particularly excited for the freshmen and for this year's recruiting class. I hope the freshman realize what an outstanding choice they have made to attend Colgate. I also hope that Hunt can ride the wave and continue to recruit top athletes. It seemed unfortunate that our 2003 season was not followed with similar success. I suppose the football program is not alone there; at times, hockey has fallen victim the same way. Already seeing some positive results with scholarships.
