Too early to know how the geography, records and teams sneaking in will affect the opportunity to have the home game. However. I assume that nothing prevents putting in the application. Final decisions aren't made until the final reg season fcs games are played!

Bidding doesn't mean we'd get the game. In 2003, we were a seeded team and seeded teams merely need to meet the minimum bid for each round to get the game even if they were out-bid. Unseeded teams are competing against other bidders. In the first round this season the top 8 teams are seeded and get byes. We won't be a seeded team and neither will our potential opponent. Therefore, we could be out-bid for the game. If neither school bids for the game, the NCAA will assign the game based on potential gate receipts, quality of the facility, attendance potential, etc.

"...the NCAA will assign the game based on potential gate receipts, quality of the facility, attendance potential, etc."

In other words, everything else but what the players themselves worked for and deserve. It sucks.

So all the other teams don't deserve a home game? None of the other teams worked hard? Be realistic. If Colgate makes the playoffs they'll be ranked 20-24 in the tournament. Put in a high bid and make UNH, James Madisson or W&M travel to Hamilton.

Wait till Saturday night and see where we are.

No one is counting their chickens. Did you see the title to the thread? I am just hoping we don't have a repeat of the last fiasco.
