Rachedith speaks first, her voice a little unsteady again, though her eyes do not show her feelings anymore.

I was only told they were a weakening of Korats, and a blemish on the race. If my tan cub had survived, I would have raised him to think differently than I was taught. Old habits do die hard, though."
"Imagine that. I could be an epitome, whatever that is." Adi says in a low, hushed tone, her eyes wide. "But I never heard of such a legend. I got my hope from mri'mai, however tough she may be on me. Still, I cannot help but wonder whether this story is true."
