Mental laughter reaches Numi's mind at the pure insanity of it all, as the lithe adolescent flings himself from rock to rock underwater... not bothering to dodge anymore, but simply pulling tree-tactics on water rocks of doom. Zrego bounces along the brook happily, daring imself a bit and only using his tail now. He flips a bit too close near one rock though and winces as his tail slams into a rock and he falls into an under-water spinning ball of wet fur. He rolls to the left of a larger bolder, giving a mental snarl as a smaller rock rakes along his side, leaving a bleeding tear on his flank. The striped curses to himself, ears falling back against his head... and painfully recognizes the frightening possibility of this whole thing. He could die.

At this thought, his tail whips out through the water in a lash of pure adrenaline, wrapping around the rock and holding tightly until his body was a streamline in-front of it... He twisted himself upright and let go, feeling the strain in his tail as he did so. Then, just to make matters better, he heard the sudden pounding in his ears of an upcoming waterfall... Double diamen.

Zrego dove to the bottom, his claws raking across the muddy surface there as he slowly but surely moved forward with the current. He used this slower momentum to pull back on his haunches, and as soon as he could make out the edge of the falls through the upturned mud and dirt... flung himself as far away from it as he could, in a graceless jump to the waters below.

He missed the jagged rocks by inches... and because of this, came up to the surface hysterically laughing.
