Hi Rob, good to learn you've found the cause of your starting problems.

Unlike the original composite U/C, on the Grove undercarriage the centre section between the main attachment points is the same thickness as the legs. So the centre section flexes under load and this causes the attachment points to rotate. I think this has the effect of unscrewing the nuts.

G-MCMS is so cheap it would be worth buying and then selling on the bits for spares - engine, undercarriage wheels, radiators, cockpit, wings etc etc etc.

Would it be worth bringing your permit renewal forward to the non-flying season?
