Very occasionally it would bog down to around 5000 rpm on take off, or during climb. It cruised very fast though. I think the Peery is a bit too course, and with the variances in power from air density and changing temperatures can result in the torque requirement of the propellor exceeding what the engine can produce. I did have a couple of rather too exciting take offs, so i changed the prop for a Warp Drive. Never had the bog down symptoms since. I lost a little cruise performance, but it's better than an unplanned encounter with the upwind hedge!! D-Motor, mmm yummy!! Are we to be treated to an LAA article on the Pulsar? Marvellous.
