No, actually BMW bought them a while ago, then sold them to ford. That is how BMW aquired MINI. when BMW bought LR, MINI came with it, but when they sold off LR, they hung onto MINI. FOrd did buy them a coule years ago, but they bought em from BMW. BTW, if you take a look, a lot of things are very BMW about them. Then new Range Rover was designed by BMW, and uses the same motor thats in the X5. If you look, the cover even looks exactly the same, but it has a LR logo instead of a Roundel, same with the battery, and some other things.

The LR3 is basically a Jaguar though b/c it was designed under Ford's supervision/ownership.
