Thursday, November 22 - The Grey Cup Classic ($35 at Ticketmaster)
Loverboy, April Wine, Trooper & David Wilcox w/ CFL Cheerleaders
Just announced, the classic rock line-up for Thursday night will kick things off with a bang! Hosted by the CFL cheerleaders, this night will feature headliners Loverboy, as well as Canadian icons April Wine, Trooper and David Wilcox. Driven by the powerful vocals of Mike Reno, Loverboy quickly became one of the popular rock bands of the 1980s, garnering four multi-platinum albums. Hit singles came one after another and went on to become the anthems and party songs of an entire generation of rock fans. Few bands transcend generations of music lovers like Canadian classic rock stars April Wine. In their 37th year, with fifteen studio albums, three live releases, numerous compilations, a boxed set and thousands of concerts, April Wine continue to capture the hearts of all ages with their eclectic mix of rock 'n roll and soft ballads. Two million records sold, several dozen hits, sold-out coliseums across Canada, and a Juno Award as Band of the Year sums up the tremendous success of Canadian rock legends, Trooper. Incredibly, more than one out of every forty Canadians owns a copy of Trooper's six-times Platinum album, Hot Shots, and will no doubt "Raise a Little Hell" at this year's Grey Cup. David Wilcox is a brilliant songwriter, a great singer, and one of the hottest guitar players in the world. He has made a name for himself as a wild showman and continues to make honest, original, electric roots music. After more than twenty years in the business and five gold albums under his belt, it's no stretch to say that David Wilcox has earned his icon status.
