That's a ridiculous claim. Menthol is sometimes used in candy, toothpaste, cough drops and cigarettes, among many other things. Supposedly, only one person has been documented in medical literature as dying from menthol poisoning, and he was working in a peppermint factory.

The amounts I'm talking about using are relatively minuscule and shouldn't pose a health risk. It's not like I'm suggesting using a giant menthol crystal as a suppository.
