Kathy, I remember enemas growing up in the late 50s and into the 60s.
From what you tell about enemas, guessing you are of the same time period.

At what age did you get a bulb syringe enema? Give them?

A few times I remember a mom would be over visiting. Talking over coffee. Her boy or girl would be playing with us. Being the oldest one by 5 years or so, I remember the mom would start talking about enemas she has given.

In those days the enema was discussed between moms. When she last gave one and who got it.

One mom mentioned she had never given an enema. She had her two boys over with her. My aunt, who seemed to love giving an enema for most any ill, started to explain how to. The benefits of giving the enema. How to control one who would f8ss and resist getting the enema.

As they talked my aunt got out the enema bulb syringe. And offered to teach the mom. I made sure I could over hear the conversation. Enjoyed seeing her show the mom how to prepare things for the enema. She showed the mom how to fill the bulb up full with no air in it.

As you or Lisa told on here...you found it exciting knowing an enema was going to be given.
