Somehow my mother knew when I needed an enema, most of the time she had time to give me the enema, but on occasion if she was busy or had to work late, she would call our neighbor. The conversation went kind of like this "Hi Betty, Krystal needs an enema would it be ok if I sent her to your house for one? I don't have the time to give her one now." After a little more talk she would tell me to go next door, and Miss Betty would take care of me. Take care of me was code for an enema. So, did I know before hand? Not really, maybe 20-30 minutes.
So, OTC junk can I assume you are referring to Fleet enemas? I hate using chemicals to control my system, only once did I have a Fleet enema and that was at my Dr office. She wanted to do a rectal exam, so I was given the enema to clean out my rectum. That was the worst hour of my life. When it was all said and done, I told my Dr give me notice next time and I'll take an enema beforehand. She just gave me a knowing smile and said OK
