Krystal, have you ever given or gotten a M&M enema?

Never myself. Read about the M&M enema in her home nursing book. Told to have everything thing ready and carry it to where will be given … like in a pan of warm water so it didn’t harden up.
Told to fill the enema bulb full. Then sit ithe bulb in a pan containing some warm water. That will keep it from hardening up.
Then take the patient to expel it right away. It is not a retention enema.

Growing up I over heard moms talking about the M&M enema.
One mom I remember was always telling my mom and aunt of her home remedies she gave her two kids. The enema was at the top of her remedy list. She would bring them over to our house for a visit.
I found it exciting hearing her tell my aunt “I gave him an enema yesterday.”

See you asked about rectal temperature taking.
I don’t remember having it taken that way. But sure it was done.

I remember getting a bulb syringe enema on the kitchen table often. Given by mom, aunt and few times by the older woman who sat. She was a former nurse.

When older I sat for a woman. She seemed to only believe in taking temperatures rectal way.

And giving the bulb enema.

Hugs, Carol A
