Sphynx pads in, 'er paws not making a sound, she goes through 'er streches with ease, then draws 'er sward and swinging 'er sword with amazing tricks and teqnec, she turns 'round a couple of times, ducks, jabs, and an other asortmant of things, fighting an invisible enemy, she then takes out 'er bow and arrows and does some archery, not straying from the target once, but it 'twas 'er last shot that was a perfect bullseye, she then goes back to the pasture to get 'er Unicorn...

The assassin entered, ground-tying her mare and beginning a simple practice routine, quickly brushing through stretches. She was flexible, and that perhaps was a plus for these sorts of things. Breezing through a pattern of unarmed combat and swordswork, she soon picked up her bow and arrows and practiced archery. Her arrows never wandered from the bullseye, but it was only after long hours upon hours of practice long before that had got her aim so true. It was repeated with daggers, those also hitting center consistantly, solidly at the bullseye each and every time. Satisfied with her intense yet brief training round, she soon packed up, leaped up into her mare's saddle, and set off back towards the academy, allowing her mare to choose the path while she briefly went over stretches on horseback...

Her scarred face portraying no emotion and she swung her long matted black hair behind her and tied it back. She looked around waiting for something- anything to happen. She really was a curious creature at heart despite her haggard looks.

The elven soon to be warrior maiden wanders around the pracitce field looking for her instructor Alaric. She watches all the others around her practicing, when she wasn't even allowed to use a wooden sword yet. Finally giving up she sits down hoping that he would come by some time so that she could become a warrior her life long dream.
Tying her golden tresses up with a bit of leather she picks up one of the practice swords and begins to work on the movements herself, perspiration beading on her forehead.

You will learn three basic offensive maneuves and three basic defensive, and Alanna will pick one offensive and attack Jasmine, and Jasmine will parry with a defensive of her choice and then riposte with an attack of her choice. We will not be using live steel for this, because we can't afford to send someone to An'kor City to get your arm sewn back on," he said with a grin. "Now, to the forms: First offensive is just a swinging slash. Begin with your sword about hip-height, extend your arm, elbow slightly bent, and swing your arm and sword, and use your wrist to give it some extra momentum," he said, demonstrating as he spoke. "Now, this is easily parried by out first defensive form: Your 'ready stance' has your sword about waist level, point up, elbow slightly bent and somewhat close to your side. Now, you thrust the point down on your left side, until the pommel is at chest height and the point a fair bit below your waist. Hold it steady at this point, and you'll catch the slash easily. Now, when you take a hit," he said, "take the shock through into your knees. Stay flexible, and absorb the energy. Practice these a bit on your own, and I will demonstrate the second pair," he said. ::

:: He enters the grounds, looking about with muted curiosity before dismounting, untacking, and tethering his mount to a post installed for that purpose. He departs the immediate vicinity, heading to the armory, where he collects a variety of swords and like weapons. He carries the bundle back to the grounds, depositing them in a rack, before whistling shrilly for his students to approach. "Greetings. Before we begin, I will set up my expectations," he began, arms crossed, bracers locked. "First, you do not leave these grounds until the lesson is finished. Second, you report promptly for the next lesson. Third, what you do on your time is your business, but it better not affect your training. Fourth, respect for your weapon, your fellow students, and your instructor may not be compromised. Fifth, lessons will not be finished until the activity is completed to my satisfaction." He sighs, walking forward and grasping a blade from the rack. "Now. I teach five lessons. Each are different. You may recieve up to 10 points for each lesson, but a perfect 10 is rare. As you are well aware," he said, voice harsh, quite a contrast to his previous jovial manner. Fighting was no light matter.. "you must have 50 points to become a warrior. Extra points may be earned, up to 3 points per, for 'practice' posts, such as Alanna's, done outside of- and once lessons are finished. Good Luck. Now, anyone still with me, I want you to go to the rack, and select a weapon that suits you. Alanna," he said, indicating the brodsword she had previously been practicing with, "that sword does not suit you. It is cumbersome, and you cannot wield it with the skill to save your life, should you need to. You do well enough with it, but you are much better suited to your other weapon. Begin." ::

Young woman enters the practice fields, a satisfied smile planted on her lips. "Finally," she whispered to herself. It had been awhile since she had been in a practice field. Suddenly all the memories returned, the smell of armour, horses, and weapons all made her want to dance. She was where she belonged. Putting down her weapons carefully, she begins to stretch, taking her time carefully to work every muscle. Stretching complete, she moves to hand to hand combat warm-up seeing Alaric was not yet here. Starting slowly, hands and feet swing through the air at invisible enemies, speeding up as accuracy increases. Stumbling through a left side kick, she returns to her slow pace, speeding up slowly as she perfects the move. Her hand combat warm up comes to an end as her body moves swiftly through the air, a mere blur of fists and feet. Satisfied, she moves to the broadsword. The sword she chooses is much more than it looks as if she could carry, though long hours of practice taught her body to heft the weight. Starting off two-handed, she moves through a pattern of blocks. First practicing a block for her legs, then body, then head, off both the left and right sides. Finishing her blocks, she moves to offensive, sword slashing through the air as it attacks the unseen foes. She bites her lip until it bleeds, striving to perfect her side cuts from the left. Her left side always gave her problems, being right handed. Once complete, a brief water break is made, only to return to the routine, though this time, one-handed. Only a short amount of time is spent on the right hand, blocks and blows being equally good with that arm. Minutes go by, however, as she works with her left arm, carefully moving through different manuevers to master her off-hand. Grinning when she blocked and attacked to her liking, she moves to her crystal-hilted sword. Much lighter, her exercises with it went by much quicker than with the heavy broadsword. Smiling as she ended, she sheathes her weapon and drinks from her flask of water looking around for Alaric.
