Meanwhile, the Scanner hummed to life. "Locating Victor Olansem... please wait... target found. Displaying holographic map." A large holographic map of the building appeared in front of Lucca, which then scrolled downward to an floor labeled B8. There was a little red dot symbolizing Victor, and it was moving down the corridor. It was also moving fast enough that he was probably running. Edward looked at the map. "He must be taking the opportunity to get out. That's good news for us. Still, we had better hurry." As if to back him up, the Scanner spoke again. Suddenly they heard a sudden FWOOOSH! as the blast ignited an underground gas line-followed by an earth-rattling explosion that levelled the south half of them complex--which happened to include a tank farm. Meanwhile, a counteratack force was massing not far away. Having heard the news that a rampaging Frijid-Jin was on the loose, they took no chances, sending two full divisions of "common" soldiers--over 20,000--along with three squadrons of timeships and several dozen sorcers, many of them using spell-amplifying mecha similar to Victor's. Already the first timeships were launching theior attack runs, hurling amplified Comet spells at the burning complex, witrh the rest of the force on the way--taking care to split up and approach from divverent directions, denying the attckers a single, easy target.
