Several hours passed. While a grouip of OverSec agents pored over the data from victoria's mind, Lucca headed off to the lab for awhile to prepare the "special equipment" she'd hinted at earlier, leaving the others free to rest, train, etc. By the time she returned, Shade was back from Chronopoint, with the news that everything was ready on their end. "Dosen't look like everyione's here just yet...but we'll start anyway." Shade motioned ofr everyone to file nt the briefing room. "We can fill in the others once they arrive." "As some of you are already aware, one of our troubleshooters, Victor Olansem, was abducted by the Sorcerers' Guild of the Republic of Zeal. Apparently, his opposing magical affinities--Holy and Dark--attracted their attention, and as best we can tell they plan to brainwash him and use him for their own purposes. In the meantime, they sent another sorceress, "Victoria""--Shade couldn't help but roll his eyes at this--"as a "replacement." She wasn't here thirty minutes before we busted her snooping in one of the R&D labs--she was sent for the express purpose of gather information about AD's operations." He took a deep breath. "Earlier, when this situation first began, several of us lobbied hard for a counterattack, in reprisal for the losses we suffered during the abduction. President Tseng, however, has opted to wait intil we infiltrate the Republic--a proces which could take weeks. By this time, any effort on or part could come too late. This has been deemed unaceptable...for a number of rasons," he assed, glancing towards Lucca. She seemed to be lost in thought at the moment. "However, our capturing and interrogating Victoria has given us a golden opportunity. And since Tseng seems unwilling to take advantage of it....after much discussion, Overmind has opted to take the initiative." He paused at this point, thinking it only fair that everyone know that this mision was unauthorized. "None of what we discus here is to leave this room...and any leaks will be dealt with accordingly. However, we will be accepting full responsibility for the raid, so there is no need for you to fear any punitive action form the President...this time at least. Any questions so far?" They had finally found someone who was just as arrogant as Frieza. It was almost like Andrea was the female human equivalent of the little blabbing alien. "Will both of you put a sock in it? Frieza, we've all heard by now how wonderful and powerful you are, and we've also known you long enough to know that its a load of bull. So, if you'll kindly mute yourself so Shade can finish and we can get this mission underway, I'm sure we'll all be a lot happier." Edward had gotten more and more irritable as the time to the mission has shortened. He knew what was going on was his fault, and it really bugged him. Plus, he disagreed with some of Shade's tactics, but there was nothing he could do about it. The most he could do was add his abilities and hope they all came out alright. "All right..as soon as everyone's here, we will transfer to Chronopoint Station, where the rest of our force has already gathered. From there, we'll enter the Time Continuium, exiting...here." A 3-D holographic map showing several star systems appeared. He pointed at one uninhabited system. "Thus system's star is currently suffering a bout of flares, the radiation form which will hide our use of dimensional gates. There we will wait, while Step Two of our plan unfolds. "For step two...Victoria is going to escape from AniD custody. We've found some sort of listening device on her, which can pick up her conscious thoughts. Luckilly she's been unconscious since we caught her--meaning that while the Guild knows she's been caught, they don't know about our plans, or that we've successfully broken into her mind. So we'tre going to use her as a 'Trojan Horse' of sorts." He then pulled up a large, briefcase-sized device with a sholder strap. It looked like some sort of scanner. "We are going to have Security wake her up, and weaken the dampening fields effect on her magical powers. She'll then be told that this thing is an "experimental brain-hacking" device--while in fact, it's a Psionic Bomb, releasing a 10-secoond burst of emotional energy which should reduce most of the people at Guild HQ into quivering lumps of fear for the duration. The Guild's Sorcerers and such are stronger-willed and won't be affected long--but the commoners should be affected for most of the mission. We've already placed a post-hypnotic suggestion that will make he break out of her restraints, grap the device, then immediately escape to Guild HQ. The second she sets foot in the place, the bmb will go off, affecting everyone in the building and within a one block radius." Then Lucca piped in. "The second it goes off, we use our FTL drives to enter the Zealian system and start out attack. We'll first fire an Actuality Bomb into the capital itself--this will prevent anyone, us or them, from using teleportation within a 50-mile radius of the city, Though that'll create some headaches for us, it'll also keep the enemy from sending reinforcements quickly. We'll also drop several Radio Frequency Pulse devices to scramble their sensors and electrical devices, and shell several powerplants to knock out HQ's power supply. Then we'll take the main force down to the planet's surface, break into HQ, and searc for victor. Wiht the guardfs already affected by the Psi Bomb, it should be pretty easy if we move quickly." "Meanwhile, we'll be launching several diversionary attacks to keep them guessing, as well as maintain cover for the ground operation. Our 1st Mobile Assault Squadron, along with myself and the senior OverSec officers, will be flying cover for the gorund mission. 2nd Squadron will hit other targets on the planet's surface, while 3ed Squadron and all remaining ships, includng Dreamwalker, will go after the Zealian warships and orbital defences in the vicinty." He smiled. Lucca had told him of a third ivention that would definitely even the odds....but for now he kept it to himself. "Finally, we'll be launching several diversionary raids on the ground. An OverSec team will be going after Zeal's main starport facility, while Frieza here"--he smirked at the Frijid-Jin--"will be attacking a massive industrial complex abut 100 miles away from the city, in order to draw off as many Zealian troops as possible. Waking abrutely, she paniced slightly to see her pets gone. Figuring they were out and harrassing some random people, she got dressed, and then remembered she was suppose to be somewhere. After having an apifinty(sp?)~~ She burst out of her room, trying to put her hair in it's typical pony tail, put her boots on, and re-load her pez gun. Arriving~~ She burst in the room, but ended up kissing carpet for she had tripped on her shoelaces. Recovering quickly, laughing quietly, she grabbed for a seat, and plopped herself in it. He then turned to Sasha. "Sorry to pluck you out of there like that, but we were having a hard time tracking you down. We'll fill the two of you in en route." Lucca spoke up. "Almost forgot...Shade, about the Tachyon Accelerators...they're kinda bulky. I don;t think they'll be compatable wit he YF-21s' Active Stealth systems." She todded a datapad with the statistics over to him. "Nope..." he agreed as he looked them over. "We'll fit out a couple of the -11's with the Full-Armor mods and use those instead." The six tachyon accelerator weapons were going to play an important role in the attacks on he ships in orbit. They fired a beam of pure anti-tachyon which actually did not damage its target--unles it was protected by some sort of energy field, like a force screen. When it did, the particles snapped back into nomral space and struck, WITHIN the shield, doing severe damage. They were still in the experimental stage, and were so tempermental that, by Lucca's own admission, they'd be lucky to get four shots out of them before they went haywire. Still, it was something. Some of you are in the ChronoPoint RPG, so you don't really need to worry. Those of who that don't have characters in the ChronoPoint RPG, listen up. Dreamwalker the ship that OverMind will be using to get all of you to Zeal, has just finished construction on ChronoPoint. As a wrap-up for ChronoPoint's recent story and a starting point for this new AniDimensional mission, there will be a christening ceremony for Dreamwalker on ChronoPoint station. Now... here's the tricky part. Those of you who already have ChronoPoint Local Accounts (i.e. you have a login name in ChronoPoint) don't need to worry. Just post as all of your characters under that one account. Those of you who don't have ChronoPoint Local Accounts will need to go to the ChronoPoint Message Board, and Register Your Free Account. (It's EZBoard, and since AniDimensional's OOC Board is EZBoard, you should know how to do this.) Click on the link to Register Your Free Account. Scroll to the right, and click on Local Account, and just fill out the form. You will get a confirmation e-mail soon after that. Click on the link in the letter, and your account will be ready. So, example. Shade and Lucca's controller (President Tseng) has a handle on ChronoPoint for his character Captain Miles. He'll just post for all his characters under that handle. However, Frieza doesn't have a handle in ChronoPoint. He will need to follow the directions above, and create a handle for himself. NOTE: YOU MUST USE YOUR CHARACTER'S FIRST NAME for your handle. He headed straight for the Bridge. *********** When he arrived, he noted the usual bustle of activity on the Bridge--and a certain Vice President, staring absently through one of the huge windows, hands folded behind her back. Shade walked up behind her. "You sure you're all right? I can have someone else lead the ground assault if you'd--" "No, I'm fine," Lucca replied quickly. I think. She couldn't remember ever feeling quite the way she felt right now. "Don't worry....we'll find him. Tseng's gonna have my ass no matter how this turns out, so we'd better at least have something to show for it..." "I'm acepting full responsibility for this one. I've already drafted and signed an order authorizing Overmind to perform the rescue, alone with any other strikes necessary to achieve mission objective." This was important; Lucca was probably the only person in the Company Tseng couldn't can. She also had authority to order attacks, though Shade had never heard of her actually using it until now. "And it won't hit Tseng's desk until the attack's already underway. We're either coming back with Victor...or not at all." As thei went on, Miles continued preparing for departure. "Docking Tube retracted, Captain...we have pulled away from the station." "Very well...All ahead standard. All hands, prepare for sub-temporal jump." Shade turned and activated his Communicator. His white pants and shirt, as well as the purple poncho he wore over the shirt, was in stark contrast to the interior of the ship. Plus, several personel he passed were giving him looks he wasn't exactly pleased with. But I deserve it. If it weren't for me, this mission to the heart of the lion wouldn't even be going on. All lives that are lost on this mission are due to me. Edward arrived at the Hangar deck and saw several other Troubleshooters had arrived. Meanwhile the rest of the forces going on the mision filed into the Hangar as well, to receive their orders. The Troubleshooters all wound up in a group near the front. All around hem they coulld hear excited chattering, which faded as Shade, Lucca and several other officers entered the room and stepped before the group. Shade stepped forward to give the pre-battle talk he couldn't give back at CP for security reasons. He knew this would be as much a pep rally as it would be a briefing, and he was ready. "Ladies and gents..as I hope you're all aware by now, we have a little situation in Zeal. Apparently someone sold them the idea that you can screw with AniD and walk away with all your limbs." He smiiled. "And we're the ones who're gonna set 'em straight. The ship shuddered suddenlt, as it dropped out of the Time Continum and reentered normal space. A holographic picture of a star appeared, with huge solar dlares shooting out of it." "We have arrived in the Republic's home dimension. Currently we are a little less than 20 parsecs from the Zealian homeworld, which is pretty much an exact physical copy of our own Earth. Those solar flares you see are releasing so much radiation that it would have been impossible for anyone to detect our arrivl in the diomension, meaning that we will have the advantage of complete surprise." "In the next 30 minutes, Victoria is going to escape form HQ and return to the Guild base--and bring a Psi-Bomb powerful enough to affect the entire building in with her. The second that bomb goes off, Dreamwalker will use it's "Psionic Stardrive" to teleport herself and her escort ships directly into orbit around the planet--and into firing position over the planet's capital. We will then launch a variety of missles into the vicinity, including one Actuality Bomb. This will prevent anyone from using teleportation or Gates anywhere into or out of a 50-mile radius of the point of impact for the next few hours. This is to keep them from bring reinforcements in, or trying to smuggle Victor out. We will also drop several RFP--radio-frequency pulse--devices, a much more potent weapon than an ordinary EMP weapon, in order to scramble their electronics, as well as a full spread of Hyper Velocity Kinetic Kill missiles to destroy selected ground defences and other critical targets. With that done, we will launch our Valkiries and proceed with several diversionary attacks to buy or main assault force time to complete it's mission. Lucca?" Lucca stepped forward, once again in her normal attire (if what she wears can be considered "normal"). "3rd Platoon, the Engineer Detachment, and all Troubleshooters except for Frieza and Gohan"--she seemed particularly glad to be rid of Freezer--"will be with me. Once Dreamwalker and her escorts complete thhe initial strike, we'll be landing in one of those." She pointed across the Hangar to a row of five sleek-looking dropships (which looked something like the troop-carriers from Alien, but much better armed). "While other areas secure the streets surrounnding the building, we will move into the building itself. The Psi-Bomb will have taken care of most of the resistance, but you should be ready for anything." The computer diagram changed, showing a 3-D transparent image of the building's interior. A long light appeared at the lobby level, proceeding into the building,then down a long elevator shaft that reached all but the deepest levels of the basement. "That will be our way in--once there, we will have a little over an hour to split up and conduct our search. We don;t know exactly where he's being held--and even though I have Victor's Scanner, I'm not sure it will be ably to track him down with the interference created by all the Guild's other experiments. Also, the more time passes., the more Guild personnel and guards will recover from the effects of the Psi-Bomb--meaning that we'll have to hurry." Shade spoke up again. "All other units wil launch iversionary attacks. Frieza, Gohan, and the Triplets"--he looked towards the three young blondes in theit sleek silver and black bodysuits--"will attack the Starfury Industrial complex about 100 miles outside the Ccapital, in order to draw off their forces. Your orsers are to level the facility, then destroy as many incoming enemies as possible, then return to the ship. Meanwhile First Squadron will fly cover for the dropships, 2nd Squadron will..." he went on for several more minutes, outlining the responsibilities of the various other groups. "Any questions?" Plus, they weren't exactly in the dimension Frieza was from. Frieza's dimension was one of the dimensions where not only did magic cease to exist on Earth, but it also was in very scarce amounts across the galaxy. Therefore, it seemed Frieza and the rest of the people from that dimension seemed to have a very limited understanding of what exactly magic was. That wasn't surprising, considering the fact that many people in dimensions where magic was very common also had a limited understanding of the mystical art, though it was better than what Frieza was displaying. To say that magic is just 'energy' was a very dangerous generalization and understatement. Magic was much more complex and mysterious. True, there were magic attacks that utilized pure energy like the Dragon Slave or Holy. However, there were attacks that used no energy at all. These were attacks like Blizzara, Magic-Induced Psionics, and Raye Wing. No one knew exactly how those spells took effect, except that they just did. Then, there were the spells that didn't fit into either category... the spells that were extremely dangerous. Spells like the mythical Star Buster, a spell that even Zeal and its Sorcerer's Guild feared to delve into. A spell that had only been used in Zeal's early days when the young kingdom was in danger of being conquered, and even then the total number of times was so small that it was recorded specifically. Twice. The spell was a combination of Time and Space magic, accelerating a star's aging process. It also increased or decreased the star's original mass, so the end result would always be the same. A super nova. However, this spell seemed to have no energy-based execution, and no one knew how it worked. So, Zeal sealed the spell, making sure no one could use it again. Meanwhile, back at HQ The two OverSec Security agents slipped on theit personal force field belts, making sure they were working properly. Their lives would probably depend on it. Victoria's got this little implant that lets her superiors in the Guild perceiive anything she experiences while she's conscious. So they know she's ben captured already. If Shade's plan's going to work, her escape has to look realistic. You know what to do?" A bolt of dark energy shot out of her hands, slamming into both of the guards and knocking them to the floor. She then powered up another spell, and looked down on them. She then nodded towards Shade upon hearing his answer. "Roger that. Kill the bad guys before they kill me. Sounds simple enough." At the word, she went over to the mission display and interfaced with the computer. Within seconds, she had downloaded the building's blue prints as well as escape routes (existing or ones she could make herself), blind spots, and crossfire zones. The box suddenly emmitted some sort of effect, causing her to become induced with fear so powerful that she couldn't move. If she could look around, she would have seen everyone else was being affected as well. Within one minute, the entire planet of Zeal was induced with fear and couldn't do anything. Starbord Hangar Deck "Hope ya ate yer Wheaties this morning, kid..." Shade quipped telepathically. The S-D tank, designed to help to user focus his powers more effectively, was attached to Dreamwalker's "Psionic Stardrive", a device which would amplify Fielder's powers to the point that he could carry the battleship, its escorting ships, and everyone on board the remaining 30 parsecs to the Republic. Feilder concentrated, the low hum in his mind building to a roar as the amplifiers kicked in... And less that a second later, the AD fleet appeared within attack range of the planet. Instantly, the ship's Milti-Silos went to work. First, the Actuality Bomb was fired, along with a full spread of RPF devices which blacked out most of the city (Shade had specifically schedued the attack to take place a little after nightfall). As the confused citicen looked up, they then saw a most unusual sight--dozens of little white streaks, like shooting stars but...different. These were the dozens of superhard, rocket-assisted titanium projectiles for the HVKK missles launche dby the Dreamwalker and her escorts, Many watched in awe as they streaked down, glowing white-hot from theeir rapid reentry... Until the first one struck, utterly destrouing the city's main power station. Then all hell broke loose... The Bridge "Sir! Psi-Bomb detonation confirmed! Guild HQ's gone completely silent!" "Launch Diversionary Team! Centerline Tube, Fire One through Five!!" The Tube fired five times, sending Frieza, gohan, and Co. streaking towards Starfire Industries. "Launch all ships!" Naturally, shade insisted on being first out of the chute, so he and the other six senior OverSec officers launched first in their YF-21s, switching on thir Active Stealth syystems to hide them fom any sensors that may have surviived the RFP attack. Then the five Dropships--including Alpha -02, which the troubleshooters were aboard--followed, protected by OverSec's fisrt Mobils Assault Squadron. 2d Mobile Assault continued on into the athmosphere to bomb other targets, while 3rd took formation around Dreamwalker and prepared to strike Zeal's orbital defenses. Aboard A-02, Lucca tok one last look to make sure everyone was on board, then swallowed a pair of Dramimiine. She knew all to well why these things were called Dropships, and she wasn't looking forward to the ride. Reaching into her pack, she fished out Victor's Scanner, tok a hard look at it, as if it could gove her a answer. And maybe it did...because a second later, a determined grimace settled on her face as she strapped the little device on, adjusting it so that it would fit her slimmer wrist. Accessing Level List... Welcome Lucca. You are granted unlimited access to this Scanner as per orders of Victor Olansem. Commencing Orientation Location scan... WARNING! You are now in the vicinity of the homeplanet of hte Republic of Zeal. Nation is designated as extremely dangerous. Commecing Life Sign Scans... WARNING! Area is extremely concentrated with Sorcerer activity. You are advised to find an escape route. Orientation Scans are Complete. If you request further and more specific scans Lucca, please ask." She thought it was odd that she was with such a mixed group on such a mission. Through the viewports she could see the other four dropships, and the red reentry trails of the squadron of brightly-painted Valkiries sent to escort them--Shade's advance team was already out of sight. Then the sudde, sickening rush as the dropships' main thrusters kicked in, shaking violently energy shields glowing white-hot as they ships plummeted through the athmosphere, their rapid decent meant to avoid any possible ground fire. "R-Really h-have t-t-to au-g-gment the sta-b-bilizers on these th-hings," Lucca muttered, white-knuckling her armrests. She risked a peek at her watch. "About five more minutes." Shade's Serraph Panzer, Ellis' Blau Angel, and five other YF-21s flown by OverSec's senior officers had already made reentry, and were gliding downward with the sun to their backs, engines powered down. Unlike the other fighters, these had their Active Stealth engaged, making them invisible to sensors, and by comng our of the sun, a favorite tactic of pilots as far back as the First World War, they were virtually undetectable by technological OR visual means. The plan was to allow ant fighter Timeships that might be in athmosphere to detect the main force coming down and move to intercept--only to be hit from behind by Shade and Co. The captain was trying to maintain a posture of calm omniscience, but even she couldn't hide her surprise. She regained her senses quickly however, and began barking out orders. "Order all Zeal warships and squadrons within 3 hours of sub-Continuum travel to go back to capital. Ready all weapons and defense systems. How long will it be till we reach the capital at sub-Continuum travel?" One of the officers checked his panel and looked back at her. "30 minutes. Should I engage the drives ma'am?" The captain nodded and sat back in her seat, wondering what the galaxy was coming to. Immediately, a white sphere opened up in front of the ship, and it shot into it, entering the sub-Continuum. As the pod's containing Frieza's small force plummeted through the athmosphere, thrusters slowing their decent. At about 15,000 feet, the three Triplets focused an energy blast into the hulls of their craft, causing them to explode around them, releasing them iinto ththe starlit sky. As they floated safely to the ground using telekinesis, the looke curiously at Frieza and Gohan's pods, which continued to streak towards the goound. Only THEN did they remember that really important message Shade had told them to tell Frieza and Gohan... "WAIT!!...", yelled one of them through her communicator. "...You're supposed to..." "...detonate the pod--" Then there was a pair of huge, thundering impacts as the two armored pods slammed into the ground. Gohan's buried itself about twenty yards away from the Security Barracks--while Frieza's chashed directly through the roof, knocking half the building down. *sweatdrop x 3* "....before impact," they moaned simultaneously. They landed a short distance away and ran over to check on them. Ellis was the first to spot the timeships. "One o'clock low," he flashed to the others. Shade smiled, then mentally cleared his mind for the duel to come. His hands, as usual, sat not on the controls but folded in his lap. What made the YF-21 so dangerous--and expensive--were its exotic Brain Direct Imaging/Brain Direct Control(BDI/BDC) systems. basically, they fed information from the craft's radar, thermograph, external camera array, and other sensors directly into the pilots brain, and allowed the pilot to operate purely by mental comands, resuling in unparalleled responsiveness. All of the '21's carried the same basic ordinance load on this mission: twin disposable rifled gun pods, a pair of foward-firing anti-air lasers, a similar laser covering the fighter's tail, and 48 highly manuverable short-range missles. Most of them also carried some "extras" on the external hardpoints--in the case of Shade and his senior officer, these were six medium-range air-ro-air missles. And since these would have to be fired before the valkirie could transform... On cue, all seven aircraft cleared their hardpoints, released a total of 42 missles, allowing them to fall free and drop below the incoming timeships before their engines ignited, streaking towards their rear. "We're going straight in--the Psi-Bomb will have taken care of most of the resistance within the building, s it shuldn't be TOO difficult." Ephasis o shouldn't. "While the troops aboard the other ships secure the area around the building itself, we'll clear the ground floor, then start hunting for Victor on the lower levels." "Arr right,we're comin in!" came the call from up front. Seconds later, they could see tall buildings popping up arond them as the nose pitched upward slightly in preparation for landing--in the middle of a major city street. Actually, "landing" may have been to generous a description for the dropship's arrival--it felt more like a controlled crash as the dropship's rear skids made contact with the pavement, sparks flying and metal screamind as the crafts retros fired, stopping it's slide within only 200 feet. Even with their restrainst and the ship';s acceleration absorbers, it felt almost like slaming into a brick wall. As the ships rocked to a stop, they could hear its guns firing and the sound of glas shateing as it fired through the building's main entrance. The blackness of its insides being a bit intimidating slowed down Andrea's pace to a cautious walk, her eyes darting around the immediate area. She quickly stepped through the shattered glass doors and windows that guarded the building's once ornate lobby. Now laser scorchmarks and shellholes pockmarked the once-pristine marble interior. As the last dropship landed, a small, trucklike vehicle no bigger than a golf cart came rolling out, towing a small rectangular trailer behind. It's driver brought the thing into the lobby as Lucca headed towards the security desk. The two guards were still unconscious from the Psi-Bomb, but one of the soldiers who followed them in applied a set of metal restraints to each of them anyway. "Looks like this floor's clear," he reported as he finished. "Uh-huh." Lucca barely acknowledged him, already concentrating on the task ahead. She fished a small portable computer out of her bad and powered up, running a cable into one of the security desk's surviving dataports. Meanwhile the Engineers went to work on the little traile, which in fact was a Nuclear Power Unit powered by an ultracompact californium fission reactor. With the RFP devices having knocked out the building's generators, and the destruction of the city's main powerplants, they would have to generate their own juice for the remainder of the mission--and with the NPU they could restore power to those devices or sections of the building which needed it for the mission. First, they started with the high-speed cargo elevator Lucca had identified earlier. With the security fields on the fire stairs locked, the shaft would be the only way to moove between floors, and it would only work with the blessing of Lucca, the Troubleshooters, or one of the engineers. "OK, we'll have to split up into pairs to search the place. Edward--" she glanced darkly at the bard "--is coming with me. Now...let's see if we can't narrow the search down a bit..." "He must be taking the opportunity to get out. That's good news for us. Still, we had better hurry." As if to back him up, the Scanner spoke again. The rest of you can fan out on the lower levels, create a diversion--ans look for anythign "intresting", inventionwise and whatnot. If you can, take it; if you can't..." She motioned to one of the engineers, who dumped out a bag of what looked like square sticks wrapped in a wax-paper-like substance--clearly explosives of some kind. Each stick had a diditl keypad attached, allowing the person to set the time till detonation. There was also a small tripwirte that could be pulled out of the box and tied to an object, to create a small-but-effective booby trap. The engineer then handed out three of the sticks to each of them--except for Lucca, who had more than ehough explosives of her own. "And don't be afraid to use you communicators if you run into trouble--the other treams can help, and we can call in backup from the Lobby." And with that she led the way to the elevator, which opened automatically as they approached. As it went down, each of the pairs got off at different floors. Lucca's trio was the last to get off, almost at the bottom of the elevator shaft. As the door slid open, a startled guard turned, eyes widening as she saw who stepped out--just as Lucca was drawing her Wondershot. The pause cost him; the gun's blast sent the guard flying into the far wall. He slid to the ground, unmooving. She uickly looked both ways down the hall--no one else in sight. This whole mess was because of him, and so if anyone was to get hurt, it should be him. Edward glanced at the Scanner's map as he passed Lucca, his harp now at the ready. "Right... Victor's just a bit ahead. I think he's lost because he's going down some corridors that aren't even heading toward the elevator. Follow me and we should intersect him." Edward led the way through the corridor, glancing back at the Scanner's map occasionally to make sure he was picking paths that would have the least liklihood of sending them into a group of Sorcerers. They managed to get some ways into the floor and close to Victor's position before trouble hit. "That's far enough you scum!" The group spun around and found themselves face-to-face with a pair of Sorcerers, each in their Sorcerer form. One was in a very bright red costume, and the other wore a cloak of darkness with white spots. Edward cursed. "Fire and Space Sorcerers... shit. Lucca... Michelle and I will handle these two goons. The little bombs looked a lot like Plastic C-8. It was amazing how much the elevator could hold, considering all the people that were inside, including her weighty battlesuit. She didn't really like the idea of being in such a confined space. Especially in an elevator during a hostile action. They could too easily be trapped inside, or dropped down the shaft. With a heavy sigh, she stepped out at the first moment the doors opened. Checking the hallways to see if it was clear, she turned to Andrea. "Ready? Lets do this by the numbers. Even as her attack hit, her claws instead raked across an energy barrier that began to glow with energy as her attack came into contact with it. However, the force of which her energy blasts hit sent the Sorcerers back a couple of steps, and they seemed a bit surprised at that. The Fire Sorcerer turned to his companion. "A bit of spunk in these AniDimensional types. I'll take that girl, you take the blond weirdo and that red haired-girl." The Space Sorcerer nodded, and turned to his enemies, but his eyes went wide. "You FOOL! That's no ordinary red-haired girl! THAT's one of the TRIGGERS!" The Fire Sorcerer looked at Lucca, and blinked. "You're right. Scratch that. Let's just do one big explosive attack. Let's go." The two concentrated, energy forming in their hands. They looked up, grinning. "DEMI FLARE!" The two Sorcerers vanished, and as they did, gravity in the area increased threefold. As the gravity reached maximum, it stayed there for several seconds, before suddenly going back to normal. However, as it did, a huge fiery explosion ripped through the area, orginating from where the Sorcerers had stood. Sasha's armored hand gestured a negative, trying to hide the dirty look she no doubtedly was giving Andrea. She then pointed to her eyes with both fingers, then pointed down both directions of the hallway, in an attempt to signal Andrea to keep a look out in the hall. I haven't seen such unprofesionalism since the Acadmy days. she thought. First she makes a racket kicking down a door, then whispers? She moved to the side of another door. Bracing her fist against where the door lock would be, a small beam of red light started cutting along the door frame. In less than a second she pushed forward with her hand and rushed through the door, the laser rifle up at her shoulder. Looking around the huge room, she saw lab equipment, operating tables, viles of strange glowing liquid, and various other expirements. Some too horrible even for Sasha's constitution. "My god..." she gasped. "Who in the hell are these people?" Just then, a distant explosion rocked the lab from beneath her feet. A few of the viles fell to the floor and the fluids started mixing together. Stepping back out of the room, she pulled the door closed as tight as she could. "Sounds like there's some action below. I think we may have a problem here too..." She looked over to her partner with wide eyes. Holding the door closed, she vigorously gestured for Andrea to 'Get the Hell out of here!' When the explosion erupted, it knocked Michelle back a step, the claws on her feet, digging into the floor stopping her from flying back further. But the explosion had done it's damage. With her armour blackened, and burned through in some points, Michelle sunk momentarily to her knees, though even as she wavered, Michelle raised her arms and fired both blasts into the space sorcerer.
