The sand was wet along the waterline, and it crunched under the weyrling�s boots as he made his way across the sand, to a cove. He could hear the whisper and boom of the waves on the shore, stirred by the faintest of winds into hissing spray and dancing ripples.
His brown fire-lizard, Bandar, had seen a green emerge at this spot, and had told his human, knowing that the young man wanted a green fire-lizard to keep his queen company and to make some colour. (Two bronzes, a brown and a gold look remarkably similar when you have them around you all the time).
�Hello!� He said to the green in the small cove, kneeling down to be more on her level. �That�s a pretty green egg you have there! I don�t suppose I could have it? My gold needs some company, and I can give you some food.� He pulled a wrapped sausage from his pocket, and placed it on the sand in front of her. �Is it a deal?�
