In reply to: Nazereth, with Synthis (Traci, Torch) 's message, "Golden Beauty" on 08:37:43 08/25/04 Wed

Nazereth's hum was the first show that anything was happening. A wild golden flit and her fair flew down, and their humming was the only sound across the hushed beach. Only two eggs, the smallest and the queen, had been taken. Now, the rest were to hatch.

The three small eggs hatched stimultaniously. Two were blue twin brothers. They creeled piteously with one voice, and sea weed was instantly placed before them. However, as their green sister from the other small joined them, a wherrie appeared.

Nazereth screeched her defiance, but as the wherrie stalked away, an emerald body glinted from it's beak. The twin blues huddled together with two adult browns, and were kept safe as their wings dried.

The four middle-sized hatched a bit farther apart. One, a large blue, streched his wings, but was almost immediatly taken by a tunnel snake. Traci shreiked with Nazereth and Torch, and grabbed the snake by the tail, and, with the help of the wilds, killed it. However, the blue was doomed before they started.
A little brown hatched from the next, light skinned and more tan than brown. He was quickly fed, and taken into protection by an adult brown as he streched.
The next two hatched together. One a blue, and one a brown, though you'd think that they'd switched colors. The brown was minute, while the blue was massive. They ate, and creeled to the adults, who took them into their care.

The three larges went next. One spun out of beat way before the others, and a magnificent bronze popped out. He was small, but he creeled happily and was soon satisfied, and taken in by the others. The next two were large browns, larger even than their bronze brother, who soon joined him.

Two eggs left. One of the very large burst that second, and the largest of browns appeared. he creeled, and was soon fed, though he was soon taken by a passing wherrie. The flits mourned the loss of the large brown, but soon started to take wing.

Only one was left, but Nazereth was claiming this one. The egg seemed still, then, all at once, it cracked like a child kicking sand up. He stood, legs apart, tail jolting about hazardously, in his full glory. The hide was beautiful, a deep bronze with dark gold and black dancing about his sunlit figure. He was very well muscled, and had a stance that suggested he was ready for the fiercest of battles. His eyes were crimson with hunger, and they fell on his mother. He gave a chirp, and she nodded to Synthis; she had the food! Eyes swirling, the large bronze ran swiftly to Synthis, and looked up at her. As soon as the girl supplied meat, Serpens attacked it readily.

Th hatching was over. They'd all gone, except for Serpens, who was lying next to his golden mother, tired though he wouldn't admit it.
