In reply to: M'thony-Caseth. 's message, "We Hope You Don't Object To This Either" on 13:33:00 01/22/05 Sat

Tsuga kept one eye open, squinted though it was against the harsh glare of the sunlight reflecting from the beach sand and sparlking water, to follow the progress of the bronzerider. She had, of course, seen him around the Weyr a few times, though she couldn't remember ever being formerly introduced.

[Rather cocky of them to just come strolling up like we're the best of friends, hmm?]

{Oh, lay off, Tsuga. They don't mean any harm. Come now, at least humor them for a bit. You could use some friends - it's not like there are many people flocking to you for your great charm and charisma.}

[Oh, shush, you great golden beast. I suppose I'll put up with their foolishness, for your sake. But you owe me.]

The dragon rumbled her amusement at her rider, eyes swirling a bit faster with the intensity of her amusement. After a few moments, though, she seemed to settle down again, turning her attention back to Caseth.

{Well, then, I certainly won't try to stop you. That is, of course, assuming that you don't make a fool of yourself.}

Obviously, the young queen was having some fun teasing - or possibly even flirting with - the other dragon. Tsuga, more than a little exasperated with her gold's behavior, rolled her eyes back in her head before finally responding to M'thony, her tone holding all of the aloof and sardonic humor that she figured Alestiath should have been displaying at this point.

"It's a big beach, and I'm not Weyrwoman yet."

There might have been a touch of a laugh in her voice, but with her being who she was, it was doubtful that she would ever actually laugh aloud in the presence of someone she didn't know very well. Unless, of course, she found something infinately amusing. To laugh just for the sake of hearing her own humor, though, was foolhardy, and not something that the distant, unsociable woman would do. After a while, Tsuga let out a sigh, somewhat uncomfortable with sharing someone's company without them speaking. Normally, this wouldn't bother her, but since most people never gave her the chance to hear their silence, she found herself fidgeting in the quiet presence of her companion. Finally, she couldn't bear it anymore, and finally cast about desperately for something to say.

"So. Nice day, hmm?"

Okay, so it wasn't the brightest of things to say, but since Tsuga wasn't usually much of a conversationalist, perhaps this wasn't such a surprise. Her eyes were still scrunched up, as though through this, she could keep from admiting her ineptitude to herself or anyone else. As though by not aknowledging her stumbling inarticulance (inarticulateness?) it wouldn't exist.

{Oh, nice. Wonderful topic. Just tell him your feet hurt, while you're at it! I'm sure he'd be just as fascinated by that!}

[Oh, shush! You don't have any trouble making conversation, but that's no reason for you to make fun of those of us who do!]
