"Well, good for Yang." Eques said, putting the flit back on his shoulder. "However, I don't think there's any wood around--hey!" he walked a few steps to the right, and picked up something. It was wood. "Here's one" he came back to Taran, and handed him the wood. Taran was right; anything was possible with Eques.

"I think we're running out of dragons." Eques pointed out as the four Impressed. "How many are left?" he thought for a minute.

"Tarry? Why can't boys Impress the gold? That would be cool... and why can't a girl Impress a bronze? And why not browns? Wait... wasn't there that one girl? I thought I heard about this one girl who did Impress a brown dragon... Something with an 'a'..."

Of course, Eques had no idea he was talking about his own half-sister. He looked at the sands.

"Hey, is that her?" he asked, pointing to Ash in the front of the stands. "Yeah, it looks like a girl brownrider! Unless those straps are bronze and I'm just colorblind... and that would be even cooler!"
