The best strategy, Taran had decided, was to wait until he was irrevocably sure that Eques had finished speaking. Then he could reply without interruptions � hopefully. That was the idea, anyway. He couldn�t wait to introduce this guy to Arden � from what he was seeing of Eques�s personality, the two were as different as night from day. He had taken the piece of wood from the garrulous boy, and hid it behind his back � he had the feeling that if a rider saw it, it would be classed as an offensive weapon�
