Author: D'var - Galenth - Alkyri and Kuru
Subject: better late than never

D'var stode alongside his new lifemate, out of the Hatching Grounds, through the corridors once again to the bright world on the other side. A few clouds had given a slight relief to the eyes, shielding the sun every so slightly. The grass underfoot did not reflect the billiant day nearly as much, and D'var sighed a little. At least it was slightly cooler. He pulled the Candidate robe off from around his shoulders, draping it over one arm; his other palm rested flat on the shoulder of the bronze hatching, who ambled slowly at his side. His legs were a little longer than he seemed to think, and so the pair made their way at a easy pace. Galenth held himself proudly despite his stumbling, blue and red, hunger tinged eyes swirling as he looked from side to side, taking in everything there was to see. Kuru curled his tail around D'var's neck, settling down for another nap. Galenth noticed the miniature, blue mirror of himself and looked at D'var quizzically.

What it that
A firelizard. You are descended from them.
He's not the right color.
No, he's blue, and you're bronze. They're both 'right' colors, he's just different from you. Blues are smallest, then green, brown, bronze and gold. You are bronze
I'm aware, bronze and starving. Are we there yet?

He said all this without too much of anything in his voice, calm and unbiased in his young mind, simple curiousity in its purest state. They reached the Bowl and D'var halted a moment, ridding himself of his sandals and loving the feel of the cool blades of grass between his toes. He watched the other bronze's lifemate walk around shirtless and her grinned. Good idea. D'var immediately stripped himself of the ratty white shirt he'd worn under the robe, shaking as he rubbed his shoulders in a futile attempt to rub some weat of him. Galenth watched him somewhat patiently, poking at his bare stomach with his muzzle. Alkyri decided to poof into existence in that moment, mind awhirl with pride and excitement, and oddly, the hints of the desire he'd felt for that green. D'var grinned at his blue's success and watched as he made his usual nest out of D'var's left sandal. With that he walked down to the rows of buckets with Galenth; a metallic bronze stripe flashed in the sunlight and D'var grinned, a bit to fatigued to go hauling buckets. Instead, he and Galenth walked to it. The lanky bronze immediately lunged his muzzle into the bucket, jaws opening wide as he took huge gulps.

Not too fast, you'll get sick
Really? Alright then

D'var's chuckle resounded in the mind of his lifemate as Galenth slowed down maybe an iota. He removed his head from the bucket and swallowed, looked around, and returned to eating as if his mental digression had never occurred. D'var smirked, half out of humor and half still in awe of the gleaming bronze that stood before him, eating and chatting as if nothing quite this monumental had occurred. Galenth intruded on his mental reverie.

You've Impressed, as you should, because you are the only one that I would Impress. Simply. I'm full...now what?
I think to clean you up a bit, and then you can nap if you like, I may try and go see the end of the Hatching, unless it ends before I can get there.
Good then, we should hurry...?
No, our pace is perfectly fine, no need to be in a rush to sit around and wait.
Alright

D'var tipped the indignant, petite flit out of his shoe and carried his sandals with the robe and shirt. Alkyri bugled his irritation at this, but found a new perch in between Galenth's wingjoint. The bronze looked back at him, but let the flit stay there, not minding the tiny dragon's presence. And so, they were off...again.
