R'yu gave the rest of the numbweed powder to Cometer, and told her how to apply it. "Just fill your palm with it, and lay it on the cut. Don't coat it too thinly, or it won't numb it long enough."
He leaves Cometer and Jhyrth, and moves to Hythe, Ith, and Chellith.
"Girls, you are doing great. Serenity, Hythe, that's enough now. Hythe. Remove Ith's harness. Then, ty one of the towels, using this strip of leather, around her neck." He passed them an extremely long piece of leather.
"Serenity, if you want, you could go with the other weyrlings, or we could finish up here, and I'll just give all three of you your lesons separately."
He had to run then, in the direction of D'niel. He found the bronze weyrling running his hand under the cold water.
"Lad," he touched the boy's shoulder, "You better let me take a look at that."
He lifted the hand, and plunged it into a clear container of numbweed.
"It will take a while to heal, but it looks as though the flame missed the major arteries and veins. You hand will be quite sensistive for several months, but you will have most use of your hand."
He held up his own left hand. "I did the same thing when training Favrianoth. Burnt mosre of my hand than yours. But, given time, you rhand will heal. It will be wuite stiff, but it will heal."
