In the NIW Rules:
"Do not mention other Holds, Halls, or Weyrs: New Isle is self-sufficent; other places are not to be discussed here. (This encompasses both your character's mental and verbal voices.)"

From the closing at DRoP, where I was a member, and from the experience at this game, as well as that notice in the rules, it's my understanding that NIW is not in contact with the mainland, at all, and the mainland doesn't know that NIW even exists. Furthermore, if the disasters were so bad that the dragonriders had to flee their Weyrs (which was part of the DRoP closing), I can't imagine that Tillek, the mine, or the CraftHall would have survived them intact, and rebuilding would, in the 10 or 11 Turns since, not have progressed so far that they could go about sending their greens to other places. Even IF they knew about NIW and Yima, which they don't. Yima certainly would have had no way of contacting this hypothetically still-existant CraftHall, except for the dragonriders, and the dragonriders are still throwing ocassional fits about their inability to contact the rest of Pern - or even each other, when their members wander too far out. Although it's never clearly stated, the books do seem to imply that distance IS a factor in draconic telepathy, and dragons are even better at it than whers or firelizards. If Yima had known about this CraftHall, she wouldn't have come to NIW in the first place; it's not been mentioned except in my RP sample I gave Pup, yet, but she lost Denal and Densk (a blue from one of Yimask's clutches and his young handler) at sea, is not fond of sea-voyaging in any case, and would have much rather gone to Tillek than ventured off across the ocean when she didn't even know NIW existed.

Don't get me wrong. I'm VERY glad to have another green, and a handler who actually knows what she's doing to take some of the instructional heat off of Yima. ^_^ But I think you might be better off re-posting, once Pup answers you about the pregnancy, with the premise that Ghys and Ghysk were from Tillek, were uprooted by the disasters, and eventually found their way here.

I don't mind the pregnant green, either, though I do hope that the next clutch after it might be Yimask's, in a month or two. *cuddles Yimask* Didn't you say something about joining a bronze, Pup? Admittedly, YIMA will be furious because it won't give her what she considers enough time to do the pre-clutch training of the new handlers (she's very big on teaching them everything that she can BEFORE they choose their egg, so that her workload afterwards has more to do with arranging for the hatchlings' care, and the handlers will already know what to do with their new whers. She thinks it's more efficient, and like a certain MasterSmith I'm sure we all know, she's VERY big on efficiency). But that's just Yima's personality. Personally, I'd see it as an interesting challenge, and might add some spice to playing Yima, with her trying to speed-teach both the potential handlers and the ignorant younglings who already have the whers and such... it will have her on a very short temper, of course, but it'd be interesting. ^_^

And as a side-note, just because Yima's muttering in the back of my mind about insults to her expertise, unless the glowbasket was Ghys', it wouldn't have been there. All the whers were just up in that chamber a few minutes ago, it wasn't there then, and the only person other than Ghys who went in or out was the exiting H'rrison (since he's in a thread in the Rider Weyrs, I assume he left).
