Yes up to then it was my mother who changed my nappies,then when she employed nanny it was she who took over the role when I was returned to them. Nanny was employed as my mother travelled a lot and it was deemed that it was inconvenient to take me with her and too unsettling for me. I think that was why I began wetting the bed. It was because I wet the bed and I still do,that nanny put me back into nappies.They were also used as punishment. Nanny was very strict I remember that clearly. She and my mother had a strong connection and really my mother played no part when nanny came in my care. So nanny became the mother figure too. Punishments were earlier than normal bedtimes,nappies being worn day time as well as night times,sitting crossed legged on the floor next to nanny until I was allowed to move. At the time I did not really know any different but as I got older I realised how different I was to my peers. Nanny liked no fuss so my attire was very plain and durable and very old fashioned.
