I was not always happy about it, but my family accepted it and I really did not feel that strange wearing a dress or skirt. They were almost all hand-me-downs from my sister or cousins. In my later teen years I dressed less and less. It was not until my late twenties, and I got married, that my wife, sort of taking over from my mother, encouraged me to dress femme. It was my wife who took me for my first bra fitting (I had always gotten my sisters old bras before) and also my wife who insists that I have a period along with hers.
