I would say that if spanking is done correctly in privacy, it is very beneficial to stop certain extreme misbehaviors. Example, suppose a child shoplifts. The parent could take the child to a private room and give an old fashion spanking to him or her. Then the child will unlikely shoplift again. It could be a very bad idea IF the shoplifter was caught!! The shame and guilt could both be removed by the intense pain of a bb spanking! Especially if the hairbrush is used. The she tells her Mom, "I will never do it again." Then Mom gently opens her pants and say without an angry tone, "I know you will not."
