[ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 16:08:25 01/29/24 Mon I come from a school in Texas that allows paddling of students, both male and female. I won't disclose any location information. However, there are many schools like ours in Texas and throughout the South that allow paddling. What I will say is that it is clear that larger students are paddled harder than small petite students. This goes for both sexes. There is just something about seeing that larger full bottom in position and ready for his / her swats that just makes you want to really lay that hardwood to those plump full buttocks. I'm certainly not saying this is fair I'm just stating a fact. I have heard more than one boy and girl bawling their heads off as that paddle is cracking across their full plump bottom. I grew up in, and teach in, school districts which have corporal punishment. I have never paddled myself, but I have been a witness several times, and have never observed this, nor heard an administrator make a comment to this effect. I hope you are not really a Texas school administrator. I am a supporter of cp. But, I have heard grumblings about creepiness like this. No administrator has ever made a comment but being a witness I can certainly see the difference between a small petite student, boy or girl, I've seen both, receiving the three swats. It sure looke to me that there is more effort put into the swats being administered to the larger as opposed to the smaller student. I doubt anyone would openly admit this but I'm right there watching and I see a difference. I agree with you. Maybe it's time to look for different disciplinary methods. I grew up in Florida and they weren't this bad. I live in Texas and I have heard stories of teachers making even the toughest senior football player cry with one lick. But this is a spanko trope (often racist) I have seen before on boards like this. There was a "woman" who claimed her husband was a principal and bemoaned how he hated having to paddle the black girls with their big butts harder since they might be pregnant. Whether this kind of thing actually exists with any of those responsible for paddling kids in Texas schools I can't say. But, like Laura admitted, it is the kind of potential creepiness that whiffs around school corporal punishment, which is a good reason to abolish it, and leave the spanking to parents. My bottom was alot bigger then my siblings so I may have got spanked a bit longer then they did. Mom's spanking spoon covered every inch of it, and she made sure I felt every smack.
