From my parents I received spankings with hand, hairbrush and birch. The birch was by far the worst, I have never screamed like that ever since. ANd the welts across the buttocks were terrible and remained for days if not weeks.
From my husband I have received all of the above + rattan carpet beater and paddle. I have never received the belt/strap so I can't tell how bad that is. However I don't receive all of these for punishment spankings. For punishment I only receive hand and hairbrush but the others I have tried in "therapy" sessions where i have needed a good cry with help from spankings.
