As a professor, I can't help but comment on your poor grammar, young lady. The proper way to write a sentence with a compound subject is, "My father and I ..." not me and my father. Just add poor grammar to a new list of offenses for which you need to be spanked. I live in Boston, so if you are coming this way, let me know and we can set up an OTK "tutorial" session which will enrich your transition from student to adult and leave you with a warm glow and a new friend. Hope to meet you soon!

Near Boston is MIT, the birthplace of linguistics. You must know the distinction between prescriptive and descriptive grammar, your correction belonging to the latter.
While I can’t help but be pedantic, I also wanted to tell you that I live near Boston and I’m a student. Please tell me more.
