I’m not sure how “public” this counts as, but I did get taken to a restroom on a few occasions after acting up in public. When I was 7 or 8 I did not want to go into the exam room at the dentist and crawled under the chairs in the waiting room. My mom was very embarrassed and marched me to the office restroom for a meeting with the hairbrush :(

Attitudes have changed in the UK so its taboo and you can't give a quick swat of encouragement like I used to get. It would have to be a real spanking in private and it's never come up so far. I suspect mum has swatted them, just don't tell hubby.
They're only 8 and nearly 6 and pretty well behaved. If they're like me in their teens its probably inevitable but I hope not.
