Vicky, Yes, just having mom all calm and cool when about to spank us was a contrast with our panic and dread. She acted like it was "no big deal - just a spanking" but I was overwhelmed with shame and fear as she prepared me to be spanked bare bottom.

It is those who strike their child in rage and anger who are the problem -- at best they are sending the wrong harmful message. At worst it leads to both physical and emotional abuse.
