I remember self-identifying as "a spanked girl" because spankings were my stepmom's preferred punishments for me. Getting spanked was just a part of growing up and there was nothing I could do but take it.
It did make me feel childish and was very embarrassing (especially into my teens) but "bad girls" got spanked and that's exactly how I felt getting it.
Your question about "knowing I was going to get it when we got home" is separate because it was rare, but trust me, it was miserable! Waiting to be spanked at all is awful but like when I was 12 and acted up shopping I was told "You are getting a spanking as soon as we get home."
My face was red, my eyes filled with tears, my bottom itched and ALL I could think about was how my bare buns were going to be up over the lap and set on FIRE!

I smiled at your question about wishing I could "get away with anything" because it was so outside my experience I can't imagine it. Like what would I even do? LOL

Knowing you were going to get it when you got home was nerve wrecking just as knowing you'd be grounded when you get home is nerve wrecking or waiting on anything else you hate, I'd get a pit in my stomach, waiting on spanking's was terrible.

I wouldn't fantasise about my parent's letting me get away with *everything* but I must admit I did fantasise about some stuff, how could you not?

Typically it'd be spurred on by finding out another kid was allowed to do it (especially if they were the same age as me or even worse younger!) then it just didn't feel fair at all, could drive me crazy!

One thing I remember was when I found out other kids were allowed up later on the weekends (my bedtime was the same 7 days a week) and I *HATED!* that.

Another was them being allowed to watch horror movies or other things deemed "inappropriate" or "not allowed" for me, I hated hearing those words when other kids even younger than I am could just have some freedom determined by some random draw at birth so my fantasises were more for some sense of equal treatment/rules or access to something I would enjoy, I didn't fantasise about "causing trouble" or being allowed to hurt anyone or anything like that really.

I don't think knowing that I would get a "whoppin" as you call it, if I did something bad harmed me in anyway to be honest however I am not some avid supporter either who thinks I'd be out knifing people if I didn't get spanked.

I find it hard to gauge if spanking's helped or hindered me in adult life in having self control, how could I know that self control and self motivation comes from spankings? it certainly helped and sure as hell didn't hinder motivation growing up though but not sure about long term benefits or determents regarding that.
