Dear Rainey,
I don't know about others but I was afraid of the Principal's paddle. I did shoplift candy when I was 10-11. I did get caught and Dad's belt strap really tore my bare bottom up. No more shoplifting after that.

But as a parent, I would prefer to be notified of behavior problems and left to take care of them myself, than allow someone else whack my child with a 2 foot long hunk of lumber.
