I recently was involved in a chat with some acquaintances who believed you could spank softly etc. That's nonsense, being a single mom with two girls is hard enough even with strict rules and hard spankings. Don't spare the rod! Not oh maybe I spanked too hard. It's teaching a lesson and keeping them in line.

Parents are afraid to parent. I use implements and my hand. I can't be alone?
