I ran into that same problem. I found out you could use a switch because it doesn't make much noise when you are spanking yourself with it. But it sure does sting. There were quite a few times, I would slip out of the dorm and break off a switch from one of the nearby bushes. I would hide it in my room and use it when my roommate was out or late at night while he was asleep. Thank God he wasn't a light sleeper.
