Anyone ever get spanked for misusing fireworks? One time my brother and I were "testing" some illegal fireworks he scored, in the afternoon in prep for the evening. We were busted, spanked and sent early to bed missing the Fourth festivities entirely.

In my country, we have 5th and 6th of July as holidays (remembering two unrelated historical incidents).

One of the days is the anniversary of Byzantine monks bringing Christianity to our lands, and the other is the anniversary of one of our people making some modifications to the official dogma and getting burned at a stake for that.

But since nearly nobody here is religious anymore, those holidays are still on the books, but not really celebrated much :)

Very interesting. I assume this is in Eastern Europe. Happy Holidays!

Well, we prefer the moniker "Central Europe" :) We're nestled between Germany and Russia, and during our history, we had plenty of trouble from both :)
