 It is kind of sad that Standing up for someone never works.

It does get you an incentive to stand, of course. We were threatened with a bottom so sore we would have to eat dinner off the mantlepiece to spare us from having to sit on hard chairs.

It probably wasn't so much that I stood up for her but HOW, WHY and WHEN I stood up for her that got me in trouble.

This just came back to me. You mentioned eating standing, well no, we had to sit on our burning sore bottoms. I just remembered a couple of times on a really bad day when me and Kaitlyn had both gotten our butts beat that day. We would be sitting at the dinner table, ashamed, embarrassed and in obvious discomfort when we all just fell on the floor laughing.
